Uncontrolled exposure to the chemicals results in adverse health effects due to their inherent toxicity. The Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulations, 2000 requires employer to assess employee exposure to chemicals hazardous to health and to ensure the maintenance of adequate control of employees exposure so as to protect the health of employees and other persons at the place of work.
