Recognizing the importance of nutrition labeling as a public health tool, many food authorities worldwide have established guidelines or regulations on nutrition labeling for consumer protection. The Ministry of Health Malaysia has also amended the Food Regulations to make nutrition labeling compulsory for certain foods, as well as to regulate health and nutrition claims.
